Hi Angie, No need to worry this is safe for your butterflies! All our Wild Lime that we ship out directly are typically untreated. If we acquire them from one our partnered nurseries then there is a chance they were treated as they do to all their plants. But again it will not be harmful to your butterflies as treatment of any kind will filter through the plant within a few months. 🙂

Hi Carol, Yes! They should be overwintered in colder regions as they can not handle frost temperature. They can be kept in a pot and taken indoors once the temperatures begin to drop in fall. Once warmer temps return in spring, you can return the plants back outdoors! If we acquire them from one our partnered nurseries then there is a chance they were treated as they do all their plants when growing. Any kind of treatment however will filter through the plant within a few months. We have not had any issues and it is safe for your butterflies to enjoy!
