Description

THIS COLD TOLERANT PALM BRINGS INSTANT TROPICAL APPEAL TO YOUR GARDEN

The Windmill Palm or Trachycarpus Fortune thrives in areas as far north as Zone 7, meaning this exotic favorite not need to be relegated only to tropical locales. With its stately profile, the Windmill has fresh, fan-like fronds arranged symmetrically in a bunched group atop a wide, textured trunk that many say resembles burlap.  Yellow and green flowers bloom in summer months, along with fruits that attract a range of birds and butterflies.

A slow-growing species, the Windmill Palm can grow up to 30 feet. However, it’s more commonly found at heights of 10 to 20 feet, making it a lovely accent for deck, pool or driveway. You may also choose to keep it in a large container on your patio or porch. It does best in full sun to partial shade, and can adapt to an array of soil types, as long as you keep it well-drained. Very little effort on your part is guaranteed to keep this tropical beauty flourishing.
