This Easy Care Groundcover Creates a Gorgeous Blanket of Foliage
The Trachelosphermum Asiaticum ‘Minima’, or Dwarf Jasmine, forms a lush blanket of green glossy leaves. You’ll find it a smart choice for areas where turf grass doesn’t do well – under the shade of tree canopies, for example. Once Asiatic Jasmine matures, it wins the war against weeds (a definite win for you!). It’s also a lovely addition to containers, where its rich green coloration brings a welcome ornamental touch.
The plant takes any kind of light, but will flourish in part sun to dappled shade. It grows best in zones between 7 and 10, and needs very little water. It rarely flowers, except in its native to Korea or Japan. Dwarf Jasmine can grow well in alkaline, clay, sand, acidic or loam soils, or areas with moderate amounts of salt. Be mindful that if ingested, the plant can be harmful to small children or pets.Categories: Groundcovers, Vines and ClimbersTags: Fast Growing, Flowers, Ornamental, Vine
