Description

THIS EASY GROWING TROPICAL BEAUTY OFFERS UP AN ABUNDANCE OF VIBRANT, FRAGRANT BLOOMS

Many gardeners consider the Nerium Oleander ‘Calypso’ the easiest oleander to grow. Often used as an ornamental shrub, its blanket of blooms is offset by dark green leaves.  When planted in a row, the Calypso makes a flowering privacy screen that attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.

Incredibly hardy, the Calypso resists drought and extreme heat and keeps blooming summer through fall.  It can even survive cold down to 20 degrees. Oleanders grow best in full sun, and can grow to 8 to 15 feet tall, and nearly as wide. Make sure to give these plants plenty of space to grow into.

Be aware the Oleander is considered to be incredibly poisonous. Factor this into your plans if your yard is frequented by small children.

Are the flowers light or dark pink? Is the tree cut down for storage?

Hi, Annie! The pictures of the Calypso are very similar to what you will receive. I personally think the flower color looks more medium pink to me but this depends on what your definition of a light or a dark pink is. The correct flower color for the Calypso is displayed in both images. The plant will not be cut down for storage, but however may be pruned if needed for shipping, which promotes new growth to it. Please feel free to contact our customer service at info@plantvine.com for more information.

Hi Katie, I would not suggest planting the oleander near a septic drain or any pipes as they can be intrusive. If you will contact us through our contact form located at the bottom footer we would be happy to suggest plants to you that have shallow roots but will need more information on exactly what you are looking for. We would need to know how tall you are wanting a plant to grow, the application, and if you want flowers or not. We look forward to assisting you further!
