In reply to Paul R Schrader. Hi Paul, it's best to protect it from temperatures below about 50F or so. Tropical hibiscus can survive dips in temperature, but may show damage or even die back if it drops below about 35F. These tropical plants are well suited to be grown indoors.

Am I right in assuming the double orange is not a hardy plant? Thus, in Ohio I would plant it in a container and bring it into the house in the winter? Is the plant considered an exotic hibiscus or a Cajun Hibiscus?

I ordered this plant for my mother and it was shipped so well and two days later looks like it was just purchased at a greenhouse! It even has a few buds already. I also appreciated the directions that were emailed to us when the package was delivered; very helpful information.
