FAMOUS FOR ITS FRAGRANCE, TREASURED FOR ITS BLOOMS
The Gardenia Jasminoides, (the Common Gardenia or Cape Jasmine), grows into a dense shrub with beautiful white flowers that bloom throughout the summer and into autumn. Gardeners love its elegant versatility: it can be trimmed to just about any size or may be pruned into a tree. It also works well in containers. Northern gardeners feature it in their greenhouses or indoors.
Famous for its fragrance, the shrub has no thorns or other cautions for pets or small children. It requires acidic soil with a good balance of moisture. You’ll also get the best blooms when you position it in a spot with plenty of air circulation, and full-to-partial sun.
