As Showy and Flamboyant as its Namesake
The distinctive markings on this plant’s pale green leaves are said to resemble a peacock’s tail. Also called “Cathedral Windows,” a dark green feathered pattern runs from the leaves’ middle to its outer edges. When new leaves sprout, the undersides show off vibrant pink hues.
Originally from Brazil, Peacocks thrive in high humidity. Some gardeners mist frequently, others believe in placing bowls of water around the plant. It’s also recommended to group the Peacocks with other humidity loving plants. In optimum conditions, the Peacock will grow to 2 ft. in height.
