These Specimens are Limited-Time/Limited Quantity

Welcome to my collection of unique plants from the remote corners of our nurseries. I regularly stumble upon some amazing finds – specimens you’ve probably not seen before, and won’t find anywhere else. I’m excited to share my discoveries.

Don’t take too long to decide which you want – these beauties go quickly, and they are first-come first-served.

We’re constantly adding new plants, so check back each week to see what’s new.

Colocasia Pharaoh’s Mask - SOLD OUT

Watch out for the Mummy’s Curse! This is a really cool Colocasia with shiny green leaves and protruding purple veins. The color of the plant, combined with the convex shape of the leaves gives it an interesting 3D look. The dark purple stems can get up to 4 feet and contrast nicely with the mask-shaped bright green leaves which fold back when mature. This is a very new hybrid and is difficult to find. I was luck to secure a small batch from one of our favorite growers. This plant will be perfect in a pot next to a tropical water garden or in your tropical indoorscape.

Philodendron ‘Bloody Mary’ – Totem Pole

Do NOT put this Bloody Mary in front of a Mirror! This beautiful philodendron is hard to find and highly sought after. Thick burgundy stems hold beautiful, glossy green leaves – some of which are touched with shades of maroon. It is a fast but dense grower, easily climbing a support and covering with thick tropical foliage. The name Bloody Mary is from the red flesh and blood-like liquid it produces when cut. This rare plant is a spectacular addition to any houseplant collection.

Size: 2-2.5ft in a 10” pot

Alocasia Lauterbachiana

By far one of the creepiest alocasias with dark leaves which can get up to 2 feet long, sitting at the end of dark, purplish petioles. This unique alocasia from the South Asian region is called the Purple Sword alocasia because of its narrow, upright leaves with reddish undersides. Its perfect shape and wavy leaves makes this plant look almost artificial. These plants are large, established plants in 10” pots.

Size: 3.5ft - 4ft

Philodendron ‘Florida Ghost’ - SOLD OUT

Philodendron squamiferum x pedatum (believed to be)

Do you believe in ghosts?! Well you’d better, because I’ve got some big ones. This extremely rare philodendron is a must have for aroid and houseplant collectors. It’s called ghost because the new leaves come out white/cream then turn yellow, light green and eventually dark green. Its red stems and unusual leaf shape give it a very interesting, unique look. This is an east to grow vining philodendron which loves something to climb on such as a totem pole. You’ll never find such large specimens for sale anywhere – and each pot has multiple plants, so grab one while you can.

Size: About 3ft

Bat Flower Plant

This one came from Dracula’s personal garden in Transylvania. The bat flower is an unusual, exotic plant with flowers that look like a flying bat. The flowers are dark purple (almost black), with wing-like petals and long filaments which look like whiskers. The foliage is lush and tropical, with large, beautiful leaves. Growing the Tacca plant requires a little extra effort than some houseplants, but the blooms of this novelty plant make the extra care worthwhile. These plants are ready to flower, in fact some already have immature flowers popping out. If you like unusual novelty plants, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Blue Tango Bromeliad

Try not to get zapped by this electric blue beauty! This is one of the coolest and hard to find bromeliads. Blue Tango is a hybrid bromeliad which was developed and patented by a lady I know - Patricia, an incredible bromeliad grower and hybridizer. The iridescent blooms on this bromeliad are cobalt blue with pink and red accents. As beautiful as they look in pictures, the pictures don’t do it justice. It makes a breathtaking indoor plant or landscape accent in tropical climates. You can also use it as a patio plant, as long as it’s moved indoors for cooler months.

Rhaphidophora decursiva - SOLD OUT

These gigantic leaves are scary big. If you like monsteras, you’ll love this awesome rare Raphidophora. This plant couldn’t be any more different from its cousin, the raphidophora tetrasperma (monstera ginny). The leaves on these can get quite large, up to about 3 feet long by 2 feet wide. Like pothos, the leaves of juvenile plants are small and solid, but get larger and split as the plant matures and climbs. These plants are from a mature specimen so they’re already deeply lobed and huge. Like the ginny, they love to climb and are prolific growers, so it’ll be best to provide structure for them to climb on like a pole. When you find these rare plants for sale they’re always tiny babies or cuttings with small, unsplit leaves. These suckers are huge and gorgeous!

Alocasia ‘Silver Dragon’ - SOLD OUT

Here is a dragon which hardly needs training. This uncommon, striking aroid, which is also called Silver Scale Alocasia, is well sought after for its spectacular foliage. The dramatic leaves are silver with green veins, resembling a dragon’s scale. It’s a compact variety with stiff, textured foliage that have red veins on the underside. Prized for its beautiful looks, it’s also extremely easy to take care of. This is a must have plant for all plant enthusiasts.
