Description
Caring for your Variegated Aralia Balfour
Light:
Thrives in bright, indirect light but can adapt to moderate light conditions. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn.
Water:
Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Allow the top inch of soil to dry before watering again. Reduce watering during the cooler months.
Soil:
Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter. A blend of peat, perlite, and potting soil works beautifully.
Temperature:
Prefers warm environments between 65°F–85°F (18°C–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
Humidity:
Enjoys higher humidity levels. Mist occasionally or place near a humidifier to keep the foliage lush and vibrant.
Fertilizer:
Feed once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Skip feeding in the dormant season.
Repotting:
Repot every 2–3 years or when root-bound. Choose a slightly larger pot with drainage holes to encourage healthy growth.
Propagation:
Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Root them in moist soil or water in a warm, humid environment for best results.
Toxicity:
Mildly toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
